Rolls-Royce unveils Art Deco cars

In the early 20th century, Rolls-Royce conceived the Art Deco-style geometric coachline pattern at the 1925 Paris Exhibition or Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes. In its homage, the British motor car company has unveiled Art Deco-style bespoke options for its customers. 

Art Deco-style models of the Rolls Royce Phantom Series II saloon, Phantom Series II Drophead coupe and Ghost were unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. 

The Rolls-Royce Phantom saloon and Drophead Coupe Art Deco cars are offered in Infinity Black, Arabian Blue, Powder Blue or Arctic White exterior shades, and feature a bespoke, twin coach line with an Art Deco motif. The Art Deco Phantom will also get an illuminated Spirit of Ecstasy. 

On the inside, the Phantom saloon Art Deco gets black and arctic white interiors with Art Deco inspired detailing in typical and impeccable Rolls-Royce handcrafted style. Other details include hand crafted stainless steel inlays in the telephone drawer, door cappings, and rear picnic table backs are finished in the decorative style of the era. 

The Rolls-Royce Ghost Art Deco is finished in either Infinity Black or Arctic White with a bespoke dual coach line and an illuminated Spirit of Ecstasy. The car’s bespoke interiors include hand crafted Art Deco inlays Olympia-inspired motif on tread plates and headrest embroidery. The interior also takes inspiration from the colour palette of the era in the form of black and white interior scheme featuring a choice of four seat piping colours. 

Specially sourced wood veneers, selected for richness and complexity of grain, are used with mother of pearl or silver inlays in the form and structure of the pieces reminiscent of the fine cabinet making so prevalent in the Art Deco period in the Rolls-Royce Art Deco cars.
