The Ariel Atom has long been considered to be one of the finest driver’s cars of our generation. With minimalistic weight, oodles of power and a no-nonsense approach to performance, the Atom was an instant success with drivers looking to hit their local track for weekend track days. That said, as an everyday car, the Atom, with no bodywork, no windscreen and no creature comforts of any kind is far from ideal.
Envisioned by designer Samir Sadikhov, the Rezvani Beast sports a streamlined open-top body with minimalist surfaces carved out of carbonfiber. The raked hood is complimented by a pair of slim and edgy headlamps placed atop large Lamborghini like air intakes. Around the back, the Beast with its slim tail lights and a huge diffuser make the new supercar look purposeful. The Lamborghini inspired theme continues when the Beast is viewed from the side too. The Huracan-esque profile and large air intakes combined with a short tail and large wheels all lend a performance oriented look to the Rezvani Beast.
Essentially a re-bodied Ariel Atom, the new Rezvani supercar weighs in at only 667kg for the Beast 300 version and only 704kg for the higher-powered Beast 500 version. Powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, supercharged petrol motor, the Beast 300 makes 315PS of peak power at 8400rpm and 324Nm of torque. The higher-powered Beast 500 version is powered by a 2.4-litre, 4-cylinder, supercharged and turbocharged petrol engine that makes a staggering 500PS of power and 580Nm of torque.
Rezvani claims that the Beast 300 can get from 0-100kmph in 2.9 seconds while the higher powered Beast 500 can do the same sprint in 2.7 seconds making it one of the fastest accelerating cars in the world. Rezvani will start selling the launch edition version of the Beast 300 for about Rs 60 lakh and the Beast 500 at about Rs 75 lakh. The prices will later be raised to Rs 71.5 lakh and Rs 83.5 lakh. Current Ariel Atom owners can also upgrade their cars to Beast specifications at an additional Rs 29.5 lakh for the 300 version and Rs41.5 lakh for the 500 version (all prices are for the US specific model without taxes and shipping).
