Remi Bizouard takes top honours at FMX World Championship in Turin

The opening round of the FIM FMX World Championship saw some of the best freestyle riders compete against each other in the beautiful town of Turin in front of over 11,000 fans

The opening round of the FIM Freestyle MX World Championship was held in Turin and it witnessed twelve of the world’s top riders slug it out for the very first points. But experience triumphed over young enthusiasm as veteran Remi Bizouard took the top honours after stunning the crowd and the jury with some mind-boggling tricks ahead of newbie second place finisher, Javier Villegas.  Joining him in the finals were David Rinaldo and Maikel Melero who also completed almost perfect preliminary runs before getting to the finals.

Performing in front of over 11,000 FMX fans and followers, Chilean rider Javier Villegas was one of the youngest newcomers on the FMX scene but he pulled some amazing tricks like Underflip, Superman Seatgrab and Tsunami Flip,  and eventually went on to take the runner-up spot in what is only his second NIGHT of the JUMPs FMX event. Although it was Remi Bizouard who stole the limelight with his a series on tricks and stunts including Ruler Flip,Hart Attack, 360 and Cliffhanger Flip, all of which assured his first spot at the premier event of the 2011 FMX World Championship. He has won the Night of the Jumps title back in 2008 and 2009. After the first round in Turin, Remi leads the standings with 20 points ahead of Javier Villegas who has a tally of 18 points followed by Jose Miralles in third with 16 points.
