The two new off-road circuits in Bengaluru will seek to give beginners as well as seasoned off-roaders a chance to experience the thrill of the Polaris range of ATVs in a safe and exciting environment

Yeshwanthpur off-road track

Bengaluru is a fairly decent place for motoring enthusiasts in the country. There are a number of well informed enthusiasts and quite a few well modified vehicles in and around the city.

Therefore, the inauguration of not one but two off-road circuits by Polaris in association with Play in Sarjapur and in association with Target Games & Facilities in Yeshwanthpur is a very exciting proposition for off-road enthusiasts in the region.

AKB Motors, the official Polaris dealer in the southern region has provided its service for the entire range of Polaris off-road vehicles for Play and Target Games & Facilities during use on the Sarjapur and Yeshwanthpur tracks.

This means that enthusiasts can ride/drive 12 Polaris vehicles including the Outlaw 50cc, Sportsman 90cc, RZR 170cc, Phoenix 200cc, Sportsman 400cc and RZR S 800cc on the Sarjapur off-road course which is spread over roughly 30,000 sq feet with mounts, climbs, axel breakers, water pit, side inclined slope and more to test and demonstrate the true off-road capabilities of the Polaris range of vehicles.

The Yeshwanthpur track is spread over 20,000 sq feet of area and has 5 Polaris ATVs including the Sportsman 90cc, RZR 170cc, Scrambler 500cc, Sportsman 400cc and Sportsman 500cc for use on the off-road track which consists of a dirt track with slush pits, humps as well as sandy and rocky terrain for the full mud and dirt experience.

The Sarjapur facility has an off-road entertainment zone with state-of-the-art hospitality facilities, workshop, first aid, training classes and other recreational facilities while the Yeshwanthpur facility has been focussed on an off-road experience for families, beginners and novice riders.

Commenting on the occasion, Pankaj Dubey, Managing Director, Polaris India, said, “Bengaluru has a rich racing culture and has a wide variety of terrains, hence the off-road vehicle segment has the potential for growth. We are pleased to start Polaris Experience Zone with Play and Target Games & Facilities to offer off-road motor experience to motor sports lovers in Bengaluru. Southern India is an important market for us as it contributes majorly towards our growth story in India and hence strategic for us. We foresee huge interest and potential in this market and plan to introduce more off-road tracks in Southern India. We plan to increase the number of such tracks from 13 to 25 by this year-end.”

The off-road circuits are owned and managed by independent bodies/individuals such as Play and Target Games & Facilities. The owners charge different rates for each individual drive ranging from Rs 150 to Rs 800. Drive rates can range as high as Rs 7,500 to Rs 10,000 depending on the vehicle, circuit and drive duration. The high cost is associated with the fact that circuit owners buy the ATVs from Polaris and maintain a fleet of their own while nearby dealers provide service and spares.
