Internationally, the Jazz gets the thumbs up from female motoring writers from 15 countries

The new 2015 Honda Jazz

The new Honda Jazz has been awarded as the Women’s World Car of the Year Awards 2014 in the budget car category. Top female motoring writers from 15 countries comprised of the voting panel awarding the new Honda Jazz to top honour. The Kia Soul took second place.

The awards considered ten different criteria including design and function, style and appeal, comfort, storage, and drive quality. Additionally, specific to these awards, other elements considered by the judging panel included the ‘wow’ factor, sex appeal and value for money; factors which all of the judges felt to be important to female car buyers.

The new Jazz is slated to come to India in the first quarter of 2015 to take on the likes of the Hyundai Elite i20 and Volkswagen Polo in the premium hatchback segment. It will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine from the Brio and Amaze and for the first time, also sport a diesel engine, the diesel being the 1.5-litre i-DTEC game changer.

Practicality of the Jazz is one reasons why most women find it an attractive hatchback. The Jazz is a spacious car with excellent cabin flexibility, unlike any car in the segment. It borrows extensively in terms of parts and material from the range of cars in the Honda India portfolio so we expect Honda to price it better than the previous generation car.
