The Clubvan is a commercial vehicle from British marque MINI. Based on the Clubman, it has two seats, five doors and 860 litres of luggage space. Due for launch in September, it will be offered in three versions: the 98PS One MINI Clubvan, the 122PS MINI Cooper Clubvan and the 111PS MINI Cooper D Clubvan.
Targeted at upmarket commercial establishments and for leisure and lifestyle use, the Clubvan is as customisable as any other MINI. On the inside, the loading floor and the side walls are trimmed in high quality carpeting, while 12-volt sockets are provided in the cargo bay to power electrical equipment. Six attachment loops recessed into the floor at the edge of the load area can be used to secure cargo. The maximum payload capacity is 500kg.
The Clubvan features front-wheel drive, electric power steering, MacPherson strut front suspension, multi-link rear suspension and powerful brakes. The entry level MINI One Clubvan, with its 1.6-litre 92PS engine goes from 0 to 100km/h in 11.1 seconds. The top end MINI Cooper D Clubvan can be optionally ordered with a six-speed automatic transmission. Features include an auto start/stop, shift point display, brake energy regeneration and on-demand operation of ancillary units.
Customisation options include four exterior paints, the standard 15-inch wheels can be replaced by 15-, 16- or 17-inch alloy wheels, interiors can be customised with black sports seats, alternative interior trim strips, three different interior colour options and a leather-trimmed instrument panel. Other options include xenon headlights, black headlight shells, adaptive headlights, automatic climate control, park distance control, automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors and a trailer hitch.
There is no indication that the Clubvan will be launched in India, but it could be a good option for businesses which want a personalised and stylish runabout.
