Effective January 1, 2014, the entire Mercedes-Benz portfolio will see a price hike of up to 10 per cent, which is much higher than the price hikes seen from BMW (7-10 per cent) and Audi (3-5 per cent).
The last price hike announcement, which was made by Mercedes was in September, 2013 where it hiked by 2.5-4.5 per cent with the exception of the new GL-Class. The reason then was the rising input costs along with higher import duties, which were creating significant pressure on company's bottomlines.
Prior to this, Mercedes had announced another price of its entire model range by one to three per cent, which was effective January 14, 2013.
For the current hike, the company has not cited any specific reasons. However, attractive financial solutions from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services like 'Flexinomics', 'STAR Agility' and 'STAR Supersonic' loan approvals etc. are all tailor made for its customers and offer a hassle free purchase.
