Mercedes-Benz posts 40 per cent sales growth in Q1 of 2015

Mercedes-Benz is on a roll. The Stuttgart-based carmaker has seen a remarkable sales growth in the first quarter in India. The Three Pointed Star sold a total of 3,566 units, recording a growth of 40 per cent over 2,554 units sold in the same period last year.

The luxury carmaker has clocked best ever monthly sales by registering more than 50 per cent growth in March 2015 compared to the same period last year. Mercedes-Benz has also recorded highest ever annual sales for India by selling 11,213 units between April 2014 and March 2015.

The new-generation C-Class, which was launched in its diesel version in February, played a key role in helping the Stuttgart-based carmaker drive its sales numbers. The E-Class also contributed significantly to the volumes in Q1 2015, and currently remains the highest sold luxury sedan in India, according to the company. The luxury carmaker states that the CLA-Class and the GLA-Class also raked in good numbers and helped the company drive in sales volumes. Demand was also high for the ML-Class and GL-Class SUVs.
