Kawasaki has launched the Performance Edition of the ZZR 1400 (Ninja ZX-14 in our market) with cosmetic changes and cycle part upgrades

Kawasaki ZZR 1400 Performance Edition

Soon after Kawasaki launched the 30th Anniversary Edition Ninja ZX-14R, the Japanese bikemaker has now unveiled the 2014 Kawasaki ZZR 1400 Performance Sport edition. The new Kawasaki ZZR 1400 Performance Sport edition will receive updated cycle parts and minor cosmetic updates. The power output hasn’t been bumped on the Kawasaki ZZR 1400 Performance Sport edition but that shouldn’t be much of a worry as the standard 1,441cc motor is potent enough to pump out an incredible 200PS at 10,000rpm and 162.5Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. If you felt that doesn’t satisfy your need for power the RAM Air adds another 10PS of power. Kawasaki boffins have tuned the ECU system to deliver extra thrust above 4,000rpm. Also by fiddling with the engine mapping and dual throttle valves, the throttle response and in-gear acceleration has been improved over the stock bike. Top whack is still restricted to 300km/h like the standard offering.

The new Kawasaki ZZR 1400 Performance Sport edition has been loaded with goodies like a slipper clutch, shorter gear-ratio six speed gearbox, longer swingarm and Akrapovic sourced titanium exhaust system. The suspension system has been updated; as the Sport edition gets equipped with Ohlins sourced TTX39 monoshock system at the rear whereas the front features Showa 43mm USD fork. Braking is done via dual 310mm petal disc brakes at front and 250mm petal disc brakes at the back whereas ABS is standard. The KTRC traction control system alongwith the power mode is a standard fitment on the Performance Sport edition.

Visual changes include a new double bubble windscreen that offers better wind protection, revised seat pattern for the rider and pillion and new shade of Golden Blazed Green / Metallic Spark Black. The Kawasaki ZZR 1400 Performance Sport edition has been priced at a hefty premium of 2.25 lakh over the standard bike in the European and American market.
