The Jazz is among the best hatchbacks in the Indian market ever since its launch in 2009. But its steep pricing was the obstacle that kept Honda Seil from dominating the small car segment market. But there will be no stopping the Jazz now! Why? Check this out!

Honda Siel has slashed prices of its hot hatch, the Jazz. Now consumers will have to pay just Rs 5.5 lakh for the base version, which was earlier priced at Rs 7.13 lakh. Meanwhile the top variant, Jazz X will now cost just Rs 6.07 lakh compared to the earlier price of Rs 7.48 lakh.

"I am really excited with the revised price range of the face-lifted model of Jazz. Ever since its launch I adored this car but did not have the budget to buy one. I was planning to go with Hyundai i20, but I think I will definitely now consider Honda’s new Jazz over it," said an excited Nilesh Dhamal of Delhi.

The perception about the Honda Jazz in general was that of an expensive car! "At first I too had the same notion. But it was only when I experienced the Jazz, I understood the justification of its hefty pricing. But I am glad it is now more of an accessible car to the masses," said Jagat Singh of Mumbai.

Well, that's the best part! This new face-lifted Jazz is no longer an out-of-budget hatch to own yet is equally powerful, nippy, quite and comfortable. It still gives you the same 'enough' space for both people and luggage while the new add-ons only enhance its appeal. These include a premium chrome grille, USB port, silver plus matt coloured headlights, reclining rear seats, rear chrome garnish, aerodynamic bumper and fender, alloy wheels and most importantly premium beige black interiors for that luxurious feel.

"There is no doubt that Honda Jazz is a really stylish and classy hatch. It made me turn around every time I saw one. Now that it is in the competition to other hatches like the new Swift, Volkswagen Polo, Skoda Fabia and Hyundai i20, I will definitely rank it above the rest. There is nothing that matches the quality of Honda," said Annie Mishra of Bangalore.

That's not all! Like on the original model, the dynamic performance on the new Jazz will be carried forward with its 4-cylinder 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine. The engine features Programmed Fuel Injection that delivers a maximum output of 90PS @ 6,200rpm and torque of 110Nm @ 4,800rpm, while continuing to return an impressive fuel economy of 16.7km/l (ARAI tested).

"It looks as the new Jazz is full with all features and the performance and mileage number too sound impressive. I am unable to find any other reason now for Jazz to not work the wonders for Honda," said Anurag Modi of Delhi.

Well, that's true! With the new Jazz and the upcoming Honda Brio, Honda should get hold of the small car market. And looking at the price bracket of the Jazz, it is likely that the Brio will cost less and offer a tough competition to its peers.

PS: All prices are ex-showroom Delhi!
