The ever-popular Ford Ecosport has gone under a major transformation by the popular design house, DC Design

DC Design, the popular automotive design house in India, have redesigned the Ford Ecosport with significant changes to both its interior and exterior giving the spunky little SUV a whole new sense of direction.

In terms of the exterior package, DC Design has gotten rid of the Ford Ecosport’s multi-slat front grille in favor of a sportier and larger single piece mesh grille and a redesigned front bumper unit. The headlamps, in their original conventional position have been negated and replaced with 10 high-powered LED lamps, which double up as Daytime Running Lights and side indicators. The actual headlights though have been moved slightly lower to either side of the bumper with two large circular lamps providing illumination. Although no pictures of the rear have surfaced, expect a similar redesign with a generous use of LED lamps to replace the existing tail lamps and a heavily redesigned rear bumper with an integrated exhaust outlet.

The biggest difference though, as is the case with most DC Design cars, is the interior. With the seating arrangement changing from a conventional 2x3 to a more luxurious 2x2, the DC Design Ford Ecosport is now more luxurious than ever before. Although the dashboard in the new DC designed Ecosport is essentially the same, the whole car in general has been given a beige leather makeover to make it look more appealing. As we mentioned, the DC Design Ecosport is now a 4-seater as compared to it’s original 5-seater configuration, giving the rear passengers much more space and comfort as compared to the factory spec car. The front left seat can also be dropped down providing the rear passenger space to place his or her feet.

Although we have not had the chance to see the car in person, the quality of workmanship in certain areas seems exceptional. The rear AC vent for example, is a scratch built unit that looks like it was inspired from the likes of custom built power boats or the Pagani Huayra. The rear seats are crammed with technology like electronically controlled seats and an infotainment console, which can be angled according to where the user is seated. On the whole, the DC Design Ford Ecosport certainly seems to be an overall improvement over the standard car.
