The World's Most Prestigious Vintage Car Auction is taking place for the very First Time on Television At last Discovery Turbo brings something which car enthusiasts can literally ogle at. Though indulging in such activity is not every enthusiast's cup of tea, as the cost of such indulgence is exorbitant.

The very reason I said only ogle. Such cars are a rarity in present days, and the people to whom they appeal are even more so.  Being on the channel, more people can view the exotic models which were made much more painstakingly as they were made more by hands of expert craftsmen than by the robotic hands as done now, which gives them the classic value. That is the sole reason why they are referred to as works of art, whereas today’s cars are more of science and technology. These are the cars which whip up an air and an emotion of nostalgia whenever you see them.

A vintage car is commonly defined as a car built between the start of 1919 and the end of 1930 known as the "Vintage era". There is little debate about the start date of the vintage period—the end of World War I is a nicely defined marker there—but the end date is a matter of a little more debate. The British definition is strict about 1930 being the cut-off, and is widely accepted while some American sources prefer 1925 since it is the pre-classic car period as defined by the Classic Car Club of America.  And yes!! The cars that were showcased in the Paris car auction are some of the best examples of the classic antique cars.

The moment your eyes see the Bugatti Atalante type 57 or the Maserati commissioned by the Shah of Iran or a 1918 Bugatti made for the French national hero and aviator Roland Garros.   The series brings the best of what is there, in the flourishing world of automobiles; ranging from dream vintage vehicles to the behind the scenes action and drama that goes behind each series. With this series, Discovery Turbo joins one of the world's most prestigious international auction houses, Bonhams, for their first auction of 2009, which takes place at the Retromobile classic car show in Paris. Retromobile is Europe's most important classic car show, attracting 120,000 visitors every year and provides a splendid setting for a classic car auction.

The show proudly boasts of the most extraordinary, marvelous and highly collectible classic cars designed to fascinate & enthrall your senses to the core.
