Audi has added yet another chapter to its success story. The brand with the four rings sold a good 1.77 lakh car units last month globally, registering a growth of 4.4 per cent, and also the highest-ever level recorded for any month in the company’s history. The Ingolstadt-based carmaker sold 4.38 lakh car units in the first quarter of this year worldwide, up by 6.1 per cent as opposed to the same period last year.
The luxury carmaker registered 3.8 per cent increase in its sales in UK in the first quarter by selling 29,140 car units. Sales were driven primarily due to an increase in demand for the Audi A3 which registered an increase by 43.8 per cent. The Q3 also contributed significantly to the volumes in the Q1 of 2015 with its sales increasing by 9.6 per cent. Demand for the A6 also grew by 8.1 per cent globally.
The company has recorded good growth in Germany with sales rising by 10 per cent since the beginning of January 2015. Audi sales have increased in the Asia-Pacific region by 7.6 per cent to around 1,62,150 units being sold since the beginning of the year.
Deliveries in US have increased by 13.8 per cent with sales of 40,098 units. The Audi Q5 contributed to the company’s success in the US with sales standing at 3,934 units, an increase of 17.2 per cent. Audi sales soared in Brazil with the company registering an increase by 63.9 per cent. In Europe, too, Audi recorded the best first quarter in its history.
