Recent spy shots reveal that the Aston Martin might be working on a replacement to the DB9. But before the model goes off sale, the British sports car maker will launch the most powerful DB9 at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Aston Martin DB9 GT will continue to be offered with the same 6.0-litre V12 unit but in this avatar it will get 30horses of power more than the standard version which increases the output to 547PS. The car will come mated to the brand’s six-speed Touchtronic II gearbox. Thanks to this bump in the power, the DB9 GT can now touch the 100kmph marker in just 4.4 seconds and record a top whack of close to 300kmph.

Unlike most GT cars, the DB9 isn’t just another version of the car with a big tail section. The DB9 GT gets a front splitter and a rear diffuser apart from new 10-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels. The headlights and the taillights have been revised too. To give the GT its unique identity, the aluminium fuel filler cap has been given a GT badge as well.

The interiors have been upgraded too with the DB9 GT borrowing its centre console from the flagship Vanquish. It features Aston Martin’s latest Ami II infotainment system which the company claims is now a lot more user friendly. Aside from all these changes there is new leather and Alcantara wrapped steering wheel and GT badges engraved on the headrests.

The new Aston Martin DB9 GT is now available on order and has been priced at $1,99,950 (Rs 1.27 crore) and then of course you also have the option to go crazy with customisation.
