Honda has launched the facelifted CBR 250R in the Indonesian market. The new Honda CBR 250R has undergone changes on the cosmetic and mechanical front. Talking about design, the new quarter-litre adopts its styling based on the CBR 500R unlike its predecessor, which was based on the VFR 1200F. The new CBR 250R has a better sculpted front with twin headlamp and sharper windscreen. The fairing of the bike has been tinkered slightly to better suit the new front design. Another major design detail is the exhaust, the new CBR 250R adopts a chrome finished and sleeker looking muffler.

Powering the 2014 Honda CBR 250R is the same 249cc, single-cylinder mill as seen on the previous model, but it has been tinkered with to increase its power output. The new liquid-cooled motor pumps out 29.4PS of power at 9,000rpm and torque figure of 23Nm at 7,500rpm. The power rating has been hiked by close to 3PS in comparison to the old powerplant, while no significant improvement has been made in terms of torque rating. Power is transmitted to the rear-wheel by a six-speed transmission and Honda claims that the gear ratios have been changed to better suit the new dynamics of the engine.

The wheelbase of the 2014 Honda CBR 250R has been increased to 1,378mm from 1,367mm and the bike tips the scale at 164kg (167kg older bikes weight). No changes have been made to the bikes suspension or brakes and like the previous model, ABS will be optional.
