Tata Motors has registered three per cent rise in its total sales by selling 52,479 vehicles in March compared with 51,184 units in the same period last year. Domestic sales of Tata Motors' commercial and passenger vehicles grew by two per cent at 47,044 units against 45,996 units in the same period last year.

Tata Motors passenger vehicles registered a growth of 19 per cent by selling 15,039 units as opposed to 12,640 units last year. The trend of growth in passenger vehicles continued with the strong demand for the Zest and Bolt, the company stated.

In the commercial vehicles segment, domestic sales stood at 32,005 in March 2015, down by four per cent, as opposed to the same period last year.

Exports during the month stood at 5,435 units, up by five per cent against 5,188 units in the year-ago month.

Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for FY14-15 were 5.02 lakh units, down by 11 per cent over 5.66 lakh vehicles, sold last year.
