The Gulf MERIDIIST features vintage orange and blue styling, recalling an icon of speed, and his Heuer Monaco Calibre 12 Chronograph.

Gulf Oil and world famous watch maker TAG Heuer have come together to create a communication instrument, that not only looks absolutely stunning, but is also a modern day cell phone art work, inspired by a racing legend, Michael Delaney.

As the star of the 1971 film "Le Mans", Steve McQueen’s character, Michael Delaney, drove for the Gulf team; he got behind the wheel of a speed machine that featured the iconic Gulf light blue and orange racing livery. He also wore the original Heuer Monaco Chronograph on his wrist, and thus the legend was born.

Designed and styled to honour a true racing legend, the Swiss engineered TAG Heuer’s Gulf MERIDIIST Communication Instrument is a limited edition mobile handset series of only 400 pieces, which has been splashed with Gulf’s famous corporate racing colours (orange and blue).

It features a soft touch black body finish, applied by a high"technology PVD surface treatment that is nearly impossible to scratch. The rear battery cover is black rubber, lined with two stripes each in the signature Gulf colours of orange and light blue.

The classic Gulf logo is above the rear camera shutter, while the TAG Heuer logo, in signature orange, marks the bar below the front crystal sapphire screen as well as on the chiselled side keys.  Accompanied by a leather protective case also sporting the distinctive racing livery, the Gulf MERIDIIST Communication Instrument expresses the motor racing spirit at its purest.
