About Tata Bolt

The Bolt is just the kind of product Tata needs to take the game a bit further after the Zest. Tata has even made efforts to ensure that it has that fun to drive factor aside from space and features.

Tata Bolt Overview

March 23, 2017: In 2017, the Tata Bolt is available in a total of 8 variants: four with the petrol MT drivetrain (ARAI-certified mileage: 17.57kmpl) and four with the diesel MT drivetrain (ARAI-certified mileage: 22.95kmpl).

Engine options include a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine dubbed 'Revotron', that develops 90PS of power and 140Nm of torque. On the other hand, the diesel engine is a 1.3-litre 'Quadrajet' unit that is good for 75PS and 190Nm. Both motors are available with a 5-speed manual transmission only.

The Tata Bolt is priced between Rs 4.58 lakh and Rs 7.53 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. It takes on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, and the Hyundai Grand i10.

Tata's attempt to reinvent itself was spearheaded by the Bolt, and its compact sedan sibling - the Zest. The hatchback can be called the spiritual successor to the Indica Vista, and is based on the same platform as well.

  • Value For Money

The driving experience is awesome, I'm using this since 2016 and the performance is just amazing, and the build quality is also good. In terms of features, this is quite amazing compared to other cars in this segment. It gives approx 12-15kmpl in the city and 15-20 on the highway. The pickup is really great and it has a low maintenance cost. Overall, this is a value for money.
