Cars like the Punto Evo, Avventura, Polo and Bolt join the list. The Punto and the Polo have been recently updated heavily and Tata Bolt is a new and competent car so weigh the offers in instead of a car like the Elite i20 and see if these are more bang for your buck or not.

1. Chevrolet Beat

If you have been following our discounts stories, you must be used to seeing the Beat feature regularly at the top of this list. The Beat has three things going against it – it’s at the end of its lifecycle, the price point fits it in between budget and premium hatchbacks and lastly, the falling value of the Chevrolet brand in India. The Beat is a fine small car though and the only budget diesel hatchback on offer in India. It still looks as contemporary as any small car on sale so that works in its favour too. The bundled Rs 58,500 deal makes the purchase even sweeter.

2. Tata Bolt

Quite early to enter the discounts list we think but the Bolt is the second car from the resurgent Tata Motors, and if company statements are to be believed, the Bolt is selling well. The numbers we presume are not high enough for the liking of dealerships though as the Bolt is being offered with discounts in the range of Rs 35,000-45,000 to keep the momentum going.

Volkswagen has a fantastic product on its hands now after the larger 1.5 diesel has made it into the car. The hatchback is fun to drive and looks smart, is built better than any car in its segment and the quality of materials is right up there too. This makes the Polo a top choice as a premium hatchback but the Hyundai Elite i20 has sucked the wind from its sails. That spells good news for you because you get just as good a car for a good discount.

When we talk about budget hatchbacks, this baby Chevy doesn’t quite come to mind. That said, the Spark is a refined car and nippy around town. An alternative to the likes of the Eon and Alto K10, the Spark feels dated though and the Chevy brand doesn’t do it any favours either. If you want one though, the discounts are tempting as it knocks off about 8-10 percent off the sticker price.

6. Fiat Avventura

Arguably the best attempt at the crosshatch segment before the i20 Active came along, the Avventura is another car that faces the wrath of the Hyundai sales push. Solid mechanicals, good ground clearance and unique styling makes the Avventura a formidable car but lack of quality lets it down as does efficiency. The car isn’t selling well and so Fiat is offering an Rs 30,000 offer on the Avventura. The entire offer applies only if you are already an existing Fiat customer though.

7. Ford Figo

Ford has already shown the Figo’s successor’s unveiling, albeit in sedan form as the Figo Aspire. The hatchback will follow too before the end of the year and then, the current Figo will either be discontinued or sold alongside at a cheaper price with stripped down features. Nevertheless, the Figo is a well built car that is offered at a good price.

Hyundai’s small hatchback is quite popular yet has been around for about two years now and so is due for a facelift to keep things fresh. 9. Nissan Micra

The Micra may not be a top seller but it’s still a competent hatchback. It offers good space on the inside and light controls for easy maneuverability in the city. After its facelift, the Micra looks a whole lot better too. The deal isn’t a great one but it still something on a good car. That’s it’s a direct cash discount makes it a sweet deal.

10. Fiat Punto Evo

Much like the Avventura is facing the heat from the i20 Active, The Punto Evo is in the Elite i20’s crosshairs. The smart hatchback comes with a good set of variants and has the best handling package in the business. The engines however are a letdown for the heavy hatchback and so the sluggish Punto Evo doesn’t quite keep up against its rivals. The deal on offer is for existing Fiat customers only as you can count it out of your shopping list if you own another brand.
