For motorcycle enthusiasts, there is a lot happening in two-wheeler market this year. Here's what's coming your way in the rest of the year

1.) 2015 Bajaj Avenger 200:

Bajaj Avenger

With Bajaj entirely redoing its product portfolio, it’s only a matter of time before it turns its focus on the popular cruiser, the Avenger. Like its recently launched offering the Avenger too is expected to come with its new generation engine. Obviously, the Avenger then will come with the same engine that we have seen on the 200NS and more recently the AS200. It will make 23.5PS and 18.3Nm and will come mated to a six-speed transmission. Unlike its mechanicals, the new Avenger might not be very different from the current generation model. Expect it to be launched in India by late-2015 with a speculative pricing of Rs 85,000 in India.

2.) Hero Dare:

Hero Dare

With the scooter market booming like never before, manufacturers are offering more focused scooter for the youth, the fairer sex and the likes. The Dare is Hero’s iteration of a scooter for young male buyers. Aside from the snazzy youthful styling, the Hero Dare is young at heart too. It comes powered by a 125cc air-cooled mill that pumps 9PS and 9.5Nm. Hero is also expected to load the Dare heavily with features like telescopic front forks, LED headlights and taillights, mobile charging socket and the likes. The Hero Dare is expected to be launched at around Rs 80,000

3.) Kawasaki Ninja 250SL

Kawasaki Ninja 250SL

The cheapest Kawasaki offering on sale right now in India costs close to the Rs 4 lakh mark. But the Japanese bike-maker wants to change that with the introduction of the Ninja 250SL. To save on costs, the Ninja 250SL will not just borrow a lot of its parts with the larger Ninja 300, but will also do away with one cylinder. Yes, that’s right, this will be Kawasaki’s first single-cylinder quarter litre offering in India. According to Kawasaki, this unit can churn 27.6PS and 23Nm and will weigh close to 150Kg. At an expected price of Rs 2.7 lakh the Ninja 250SL will be the most affordable Kawasaki offering.

Enthusiasts have been talking about it for long, and finally the launch of the Yamaha R3 is round the corner. With regards to styling, the Yamaha R3 looks identical to its quarter litre sibling the R25. And it’s a design that young moto-maniacs are sure to fall in love with. The sharp edges and that neatly sculpted tank add to the overall charm. Powering the Yamaha R3 is a bored out engine from the R25 which now displaces 321cc and makes 42PS and 29.6Nm. All of ths power is sent to the rear wheels with the help of a 6-speed transmission. With the kind of quality and handling that Yamaha machines offer, the R3 is definitely going give the Kawasaki Ninja 300 a run for its money. The Yamaha R3 should be launched around Rs2.75 lakh.

5.) Honda CBR650F:

Honda CBR650F

Honda has been absent from the middle-weight motorcycle space for a long time now. And with manufacturers like Ducati, Benelli and Kawasaki going all out with their products, it was only a matter of time before Honda stepped into the game. We are talking about the Honda CBR650F. Set to go against the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and the Benelli TNT 600GT, the Honda is expected to be priced higher at around the Rs 8 lakh marker. Why the premium price you ask? Well the company officials say that only 5 per cent of the parts will be localised. The Honda CBR650F will only be assembled and sold in India. And not to forget, it’s an inline four cylinder. The CBR650F houses a 649cc liquid-cooled motor pumping out 87PS and 63Nm. The motor is mated to a six-speed transmission.
