If news of a new Tata Indica Vista variant caught your attention, what you're going to read next will make you jump with joy. Yes, we now have more dope on the Indica Vista Ignis and here it is.

Like we said earlier, the Indica Vista Ignis will be a new variant in the Tata Motors line up and it will sport the 95 PS 1.4 litre Safire petrol engine that also powers the Fiat Punto. Plonking the bigger, more powerful petrol engine was always on the cards and makes perfect logic - especially since potential buyers who were considering Tata Indica Vista petrol cars were deterred due to the smallish 1.2 litre engine. Sources also indicate that the new engine will deliver fuel efficiency to the tune of around 16.5kmpl.

Apart from the engine, the Ignis will also have quite a few features that should entice buyers more than ever before. First off - the car sports chunky 175/65 R14 Goodyear GT3 rubber. The car is also fitted with at least two airbags - one each for the front passenger and the driver. The dash itself seems to have been reworked with a svelte music system that also features Bluetooth connectivity - as ushered by the call answer and reject buttons as well as a USB port. Interiors are better - if you're the kind of person who likes an abundance of black. The steering wheel is a new design to accommodate the airbag and steering mounted controls for the audio system. Mirrors are also electrically adjustable

The Indica Vista Ignis gets keyless entry as well. But the biggest plus apart from the airbags is the incorporation of ABS on the new variant. Yes, the Indica Vista Ignis gets an Anti-Lock Braking System - a feature that is fast becoming a necessity when it comes to buying decisions. On the outside, the only thing that will identify the new variant from the older ones will be the ABS badge, probably a badge indicating engine capacity and obviously the 'Ignis' badge on the sides.

Expect the Indica Vista Ignis to hit showrooms soon.

Stay away from TATA Cars. Tata can make good trucks but not good CARS. I am having Vista Qjet for 1 year now. Struggling with faulty electricals, poor services from dealer and worst un-availability of spair parts even under warranty. 6 visits to service centers in a year.:( | Reply

HI I am looking to buy aura saffire, which is costin g4.42 lcs in bangalore. City mileage would not be more than 12-13 km/l from this car. The internal features look plush to me and seems very pulling....else than that I dont know much abt cars as this would be my first car.As this is a fully loaded car, any other car on road comparision with same features would be expensive or same. I already have stretched my budget for it. Please suggest me what to do as I am a normal lower middle class bachelor and aspire to buy a car as its been long time dream....if I wont be able to decide about it ,I will buy an Alto LXi and load some basic features thats it...please suggest as in today's scenario every one can buy a car but maintaining is very challanging.,...whom to listen ...to my heart(vista aura saffire) or my mind(alto lxi)?Every one welcome to give true openion just like a real friend in need. | Reply

Tata should also consider to bring an automatic version with automatic climate control on the mind. City drives need automatic transmission for ease. | Reply

Ignis is not slated for launch in India. It has been developed for launch in South Africa. So stop dreaming for now. Expect a sedan based on Vista platform in Nov-Dec. | Reply

I wish TATA could drop the work Indica from the name and rework the tail ligts or probably the whole rear section to look totally different then the current Indica. OI think they are going to price it somewhere between 4.60 to 4.90Lakh's. Lets wait and watch. | Reply

Way to go Tata Motors. A befitting reply to all the Maruti Swift fans. They always said that the Swift was better because it offered ABS. With this model, (ABS Airbags) Tata's have gone a step ahead | Reply
