In 2019, Micromax co-founder and CEO, Rahul Sharma, announced Revolt Motors, an EV startup with the promise of delivering India’s first electric motorcycle. Headquartered in Gurgaon and with a production plant in Manesar, the company launched the RV400 electric bike on 7th August 2019. It was packed with features that hadn’t been seen before in any of the Indian 2-wheeler EVs, such as artificial engine noises played from built-in speakers in the bike’s body. With performance equivalent to a 125cc petrol motorcycle and features from all the top electric two-wheelers such as Bluetooth connectivity, geo-fencing, LED lighting, multiple riding modes and Over-the-Air (OTA) updates, it drew immediate interest from a lot of potential buyers. Also the RV400 came with a large removable battery, which coupled with Revolt’s intention of setting up swap stations across the country made the RV400 a very viable option for many. But one of the most interesting aspects about this electric bike was its subscription based pricing - the first of its kind for any vehicle in India.
The EV maker also launched a more affordable version of their electric motorcycle, the RV300, which came with a smaller battery and a less powerful hub motor. In 2021, pizza giant Dominos announced that they’d be replacing their petrol powered delivery fleet with the RV300 electric. And the RV300 has been pretty much sold out for the general public since then. In the same year, RattanIndia, a company involved in the energy sector, invested Rs 150 crore in Revolt for a 43 percent stake. The primary objective of this investment was to help Revolt set up battery swap stations across the country, which would make the RV400 an even more attractive option for many more potential buyers. However, we are yet to see the new swap stations in action.
Currently, Revolt Motors has showrooms, called “Revolt Hubs”, in 23 cities across the country and will soon be expanding to more cities. Going forward, the company plans to also launch an electric cafe racer in the country.

I recently took a test drive of revolt rv 400 BRZ, and found it amazing and my experience was mesmerising. I am planning to buy this model for my daily commute purposes. I want to purchase the black colour model as it looks very attractive. The drive feel is amazing, although its expensive. The mileage is good and so is the ground clearance. I’ll recommend this to all bike lovers.
The revolt rv 400, apart from miraculous looks, gives you convenience and comfort. It is a proper bike best suited for all purposes. It is a tad bit expensive but for daily bikers, it is surely a well suited bike. Its weight is heavy and may be a problem while navigating through narrow streets and heavy traffic. The seat is long and comfortable, for longer duration journey.

Revolt RV400 BRZ has similar looks like revolt RV400 and the performance is also same, only the comfort is increased. it has a riding range of 120-150km per charge. the suspension system works perfectly and the brakes are also responsive. I liked it's seating posture and smooth handling. the pricing is also good for such a perfect EV bike.
