The scooter market lately has seen a fair share of new unconventional scooter designs, and the SYM KRN BT has got to be one of the funkiest ones. Developed in collaboration with KISKA, the company behind the design of Husqvarna and KTM bikes, the KRN BT follows an art fusion design vocabulary.
The KRN BT employs a simple and compact body design that is unique in every sense of the word. Following the philosophy of ‘unrestricted,’ the KRN BT has a lot of customisation potential, with the company claiming, “no two KRN BT’s are the same.” The company will also be launching a number of performance and appearance modification parts for the scooter soon.
The mudguard design, among other elements, on the KRN BT signifies the off-road-friendly nature of the scooter and is aimed at offering the fun of a motorcycle with the convenience of a scooter.
The scooter gets a round headlight design that takes cues from the Husqvarna motorcycles, and remains more or less naked in the front with a small windshield above the headlight. The KRN BT features a large floorboard with anti-collision bars on the sides that look very minimal.
With a single seat setup and simple and classy side panels, the scooter, again, exudes a minimal and functional appearance. It features a short tail licence plate that extends outwards of the scooter. The scooter can be seen sporting a USD suspension setup at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear.
The scooter will be powered by a 125cc engine paired to a CVT transmission, and can be expected to produce around 8PS and 8Nm. It is set to launch in foreign markets later this year.
The Yamaha EMF and the SYM 4 MICA are some of the other scooters recently launched abroad that make use of an unconventional design and look unique.
