DSK-Motowheels announced that it will be launching the Benelli motorcycle brand in the Indian two-wheeler market on March 19th. The launch announcement was made at the India Bike Week 2015 in Vagator, Goa. Booking for the motorcycles will commence from March 10th onwards with deliveries for the motorcycle starting from the day of the launch itself. Earlier DSK-Motowheels had showcased five motorcycles from its international portfolio supposed to be launched in India. The five bikes that will make their way to our shores include the TNT 302, TNT 600 GT, TNT600i, TNT 899, TNT 1130R.
Now though DSK-Motowheels have announced to increase that number to eight as it showcased three new motorcycles that will also be launched in the Indian two-wheeler market. The three new motorcycles are the the Benelli TNT 250, Benelli Trek 1130 and the Keeway Blackster cruiser that would be marketed as Benelli offering in our market. The Benelli TNT 250 shares parts with its 300cc sibling but what sets it apart is the fact it will be powered by a single-cylinder motor which will result in aggressive pricing for the bike. The Benelli Trek 1130 is the adventure-tourer version of the TNT 1130R and it will be the flagship Benelli offering in India. The Benelli Blackster is a 250cc, twin-cylinder cruiser motorcycle with a matte black paint scheme and will be the only cruiser offering from DSK-Benelli. The three new motorcycles will be launched at a later date though.
Pricing for the motorcycles haven’t been revealed yet but they will be announced during the launch. The first DSK-Benelli dealership will be set up in Pune with booking and deliveries commencing right away according to company officials. The Italian two-wheeler manufacturer also plans to setup 20 dealerships in our country with the help of DSK MotoWheels will help them. The first eight of the Benelli exclusive showrooms will be inaugurated in, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Chandigarh and Kolkata within the next four months while other cities would follow soon.
The Benelli motorcycles will be brought to the Indian market via the CKD route and will be assembled at the CKD plant of DSK MotoWheels. By assembling the bikes in India, Benelli will be able to price their bikes aggressively. The Benelli TNT 30o and the TNT 250 will form the bulk of sales for Benelli in our market.
