The Japanese carmaker is busy testing the 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport facelift in Australia; expected to be equipped with a 2.4-litre MIVEC turbocharged diesel engine

2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport facelift spotted

Images of the 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport facelift SUV doing test rounds in Australia have surfaced on the web. The test mule was neatly draped in a significant amount of camouflage while doing the tests in the country.

The 2016 Pajero Sport facelift borrows its styling cues from the GR-HEV utility concept showcased at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. A closer inspection of the front fascia reveals that the SUV receives slim swept-back headlamps, a similar bumper design and a strong character line running across the side profile just like the GR-HEV utility concept.

India-bound 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport facelift rear end

The current-generation Pajero Sport is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine churning out 176PS of power and 400Nm of peak torque. Reports suggest that the 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport facelift could feature the new 2.4-litre MIVEC turbocharged diesel engine capable of delivering 181PS and 430Nm of torque. The Japanese carmaker is likely retain the six-speed manual and automatic transmission options for the new Pajero Sport.

The 2016 Pajero Sport facelift is expected to be launched in the international market later this year. This SUV is expected to make its way to the Indian shores in 2016.
