DSK Hyosung will bring its 125cc motorcycle - the RT 125 D - to the Auto Expo to gauge customer response for a possible India launch

DSK Hyosung has said it will showcase the RT 125 D at the Auto Expo to gauge customer response towards a possible India launch later this year. If the response is good, DSK Hyosung will begin a full-fledged customer clinic for the RT 125 D to decide on the bike’s final price and positioning. This is not the first time that Hyosung has considered the RT 125 D for India, though. The bike was also considered when Garware and Hyosung were together, but the partnership did not last long enough for newer models to see the light of day.

The RT 125 D is a 124cc, single cylinder, air cooled motorcycle that makes 13.5PS of max power. This power figure is higher than any other 125cc motorcycle on sale in India currently. The RT 125 D uses a cradle type frame and offset telescopic forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear and follows an on/off-road product description much like the Hero Impulse. This should make the motorcycle a comfortable commute machine both on poor roads and in chock-a-block city traffic. As we mentioned earlier, the pricing of the motorcycle will only be decided after customer clinics are over.

Besides, the RT 125 D, Hyosung will also bring its street naked – the GD 250 N to the Auto Expo. The GD 250 N, unlike the RT 125 D has been confirmed for India but will not be launched at the Expo as DSK Hyosung is still working on the motorcycle’s final specs and pricing. DSK Hyosung will launch one motorcycle at the Auto Expo, nonetheless – the Aquila 250. The Aquila like the 250 N is a 250cc motorcycle but one that uses a V-twin engine layout compared to a single cylinder one used on the 250 N. The Aquila 250 uses an oil-cooled, fuel injected engine that develops a max power output of 26PS. You can read more about these motorcycles here.
