TVS has become the second manufacturer in the country to offer disc brakes as an option, with the its 110cc scooter Wego now sporting one. The Wego with disc brake has been priced at Rs. 49,243 (ex-showroom, Pune)

TVS Wego with disc brake variant

TVS Motors have added disc brakes as an option on its scooter, Wego. The new variant with disc brakes is priced at an extra cost of Rs. 2,800 over the standard variant. This is a good move by TVS, since disc brakes are far superior in terms of braking performance compared to the drum brakes. The Hosur based two-wheeler manufacturers have not made any other changes on the Wego either cosmetically or mechanically apart from the disc brake option.

The Wego continues to be powered by a 109.77cc, four-stroke mill producing 8.1PS of power and 8Nm of torque. By offering disc-brake on the Wego, TVS has become the second manufacturer currently in the country to provide this option on a scooter, first being Honda with its Aviator. The Wego with the disc brake has been priced at Rs. 49,243 (ex-showroom Pune). Also read: 110cc to 125cc Scooter Shootout
