Suzuki launches Gixxer SF at Rs 83,889

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd has launched the Suzuki Gixxer SF, a fully faired version of the Suzuki Gixxer, at an ex-showroom Delhi price of Rs 83,889.

At this price, the Gixxer SF is the most affordable full faired bike in the Indian market.

The Gixxer SF shares the same heart as that of the naked Gixxer – a 154.9cc single-cylinder, air-cooled four stroke engine that makes 14.8PS at 8,000rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,000rpm.

Features on the Gixxer SF include LED tail lamp, clear lens indicators, 7-step adjustable rear mono shock suspension, aluminium exhaust cover, digital instrument cluster and of course, the aerodynamic fairing.

The fairing has added 4kg weight to the Gixxer SF but has also improved the aerodynamics of the bike. Suzuki says the aerdynamic full sport fairing has been developed in the same wind tunnel where the legendary Hayabusa, GSX-R and MotoGP machines have been developed. The fairing, says Suzuki, has been designed to give maximum wind protection to the rider, reducing turbulence and drag, delivering great aerodynamic efficiency. Suzuki officials say the Gixxer SF will have a 5-6 per cent advantage over the top speed of the Gixxer - that would be close to 130kmph. The gearbox also is the same 5-speed unit and braking and suspension is kept unchanged from the Gixxer’s.

The Gixxer SF will be available in three colours - metallic triton blue (Moto GP edition), pearl mirage white and glass sparkle black. The Moto GP edition commemorates Suzuki's return to Moto GP in 2015. However, there are no mechanical changes to this edition.

The Gixxer SF will compete against the likes of Honda CBR 150R and Yamaha R15 in the Indian market.
