Mahindra Thar Adventure Edition launched in India

Homegrown automajor, Mahindra and Mahindra, has silently launched a limited edition Thar offroader – the Mahindra Thar Adventure Edition in the country. Only 30 units of this SUV will be built, and the new Thar Adventure Edition will be sold only through select dealerships.

The Adventure Edition Thar gets an all new Java Brown paint scheme. It also sports an Adventure wrap across the side body. The wrap is made up of a map and compass. It also gets new headlamps, tail lamps and chaff screen for a more rugged look.

On the inside, the Adventure Edition gets black seat covers with orange piping, a new centre console, 2D map and compass and moulded floor mats.

The Adventure Edition will continue to come equipped with the same 2.5-litre diesel engine that churns out 105PS of power and 247Nm of torque as the regular Thar. The 5-speed gearbox is also carried over from the standard model.

Mahindra has not revealed the pricing for the Adventure Edition yet. However, we expect it to be sold at Rs 35,000-40,000 more than the regular Mahindra Thar which retails at Rs 7.17 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
