by Sukhpreet Singh Posted on 19 Aug 2011131,318 Views85 Comments

Coming in with a 2.2 liter, Common Rail Diesel Daimler engine, a suspension kit from Lotus, the most anticipated SUV, Force One, is here and that too at 10.65 lakhs ex-showroom. Competition better watch out.

One thinks of Force Motors and the first thing to come to mind is the Tempo Traveler or the sucessfully running Gurkha. Come to think of it, that is what has been expected by the pioneer in Light Commercial Vehicles with the Judo, Trax and a fleet that has undoubtedly no competition. Now, the manufacturer is entering into the premium SUV segment with Force One, their first entrant in the passenger vehicle segment. The Diesel mill will also be a frugal one with claimed figures of 11.6 kilometers to a liter. Not only that, the reliability factor is also expected to be at par with other competitors.

Equipped with a 2.2 liter FMTech Daimler engine putting out 141 PS at 3800 rpm, and a massive 321 Nm at 1600 rpm, this beast stands at a kerb weight of 2510 kilos. The power is delivered to the tarmac through 235/70/16R Apollo Hawkz and the overall dimensions comparable to any SUV in the market.

Creature comforts like steering mounted audio, cruise and Bluetooth connectivity controls will come standard with electrically foldable mirrors as well.

For the time being, Force One will be available in a 4x2 version for 10.65 lakhs ex-showroom all India. The Brand Ambassador, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan has already placed orders for two units. (Read: Force Motors Force One - first drive)

Weight of the car is too much, it is 700 kg more than Scorpio. I think it is under powered. if it is so than very disappointed.

Seems to be a good initial try from an Indian Player. Competing with International auto companies, Force in collaboration with Germany and China, has taken a good step here. The vehicle is fair looking and value for money. Loaded with proven Engine from Mercedes and Body work from Forday(china), the vehicle is sure to be a niggle free one. Again, Indian market never considers swadeshi companies... so have to wait and watch the success of Force ....

A dissapointing model. People go by looks too! So I don't think this oldish looking model is the right one to take FORCE into the next decade. Compared with Aria it looks ancient.

Even with Daimler diesel engine and other parts sourced, its the "Worst design SUV, try and get better design aspect from them, if you cannot, copy from AUDI, VW, MB,BMW, SUV. Pathetic looking ugly SUV from FORCE.

I think Force Motors has done a great job. We expect them to deliver huge value because their past record and the reliable product they have made before. I am sure Force One is going to give Mr. Anand Mahindra and Mr. Goenka a few sleepless nights. This vehicle looks better than Scorpio and best of all it is longer than that. I am a confirmed customer for Force One. I would definately like to read a few reviews in magazines and test drive one as soon as possible. Force One Team... Congratulations. You have delivered value. Keep up the good work. Keep making corrections, always hear your customers patiently. Best wishes, Imtiaz
