UM India Two Wheelers is all set to be the latest two-wheeler manufacturer to enter the Indian two-wheeler market. The American bikemaker had showcased the entire range of Renegade cruisers at the recently concluded 2014 Auto Expo. Out of which, the Renegade Commando and the Renegade Sport will be launched in our country during the festive season by end of the year. But unlike the international variant of the Renegade Sport, which is powered by a 196cc mill, the Indian version will be powered by a 225cc motor.
Both the models will feature a 225cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled mill producing 18PS @ 8,000rpm and torque figure stands at 15.5Nm @ 5,500rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear-wheel via five-speed gearbox. In terms of styling, Renegade Commando uses traditional cruiser styling cues - low seats, raised handle bars, chunky fuel tank and will be draped in a stealthy shade of matte green, black and white. In terms of proportion, the offerings look bigger than what it actually is in terms of displacement.

Overall it’s a decent looking cruiser but the only grouse we felt in terms of design where the fake twin-silencers that looks wannabe. The Renegade Sports on the other hand seems that it has been inspired heavily from the Harley-Davidson Superlow and Iron 883 for design cues. Both the offerings will be launched in our two-wheeler market by November 2014. No details about the exact pricing of the Renegade Commando and the Renegade Sport have been revealed yet. But the bikemaker is planning to price them between Rs 80,000 to 1.5 lakh. The Renegade Commando and the Renegade Sport will be pitched against the Bajaj Avenger 220 and the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350/500 in our two-wheeler spectrum.
