TVS Motor Company released its sales report for the month of May 2015. The Hosur based two-wheeler giant sold 2,20,079 units in May 2015 as opposed to 2,06,813 units it had managed in the corresponding month last year. This means that total sales for TVS increased by six per cent on a year-on-year basis. Furthermore, TVS exported 35,310 two-wheeler units in May 2015 as opposed to 27,780 units in the month of May 2014 to increase its exports sales by an impressive 22 per cent. Domestic two wheeler sales increased by a meagre 3 per cent from 169,671 units in May 2014 to 175,533 units in May 2015.
The overall domestic sales for TVS has been disappointing at three per cent but given the fact that overall two-wheeler sale slid by two per cent in May 2015, the Hosur based manufacturer will be satisfied with its performance. TVS is also planning to re-launch its commuter offering Victor in a new avatar and will be banking on the new bike to strengthen its sales further. TVS also confirmed that it will launch the Apache 250 by end of 2015 that will compete against the likes of the KTM 200 Duke, Bajaj Pulsar 200NS etc in our two-wheeler market.
