2017 Triumph Tiger Sport 105

An upgraded version of the Triumph Tiger Sport 1050 has been spotted testing in Europe.

The new 2017 model of the Tiger Sport 1050 will not have any major technical changes, but the changes are focussed more on exhaust emissions to meet new European regulations. A few other smaller regulatory tweaks are also expected as are mandatory ABS brakes.

The motor is expected to be the same upgraded version of the 1050cc in-line triple that will go into the revised Speed Triple. The only internal changes that are expected are an electronic throttle and changes to the cams, valves and combustion chamber architecture.

The changes will be welcome to riders, who will get multiple riding modes and traction control, with the implementation of the electronic ride-by-wire throttle. There are a few cosmetic changes expected as well, including revised fairing design, new exhaust and belly pan.

The bike is expected to be introduced by the second half of 2016. We aren’t sure if Triumph India has any plans of launching the Tiger Sport 1050 in India, but later this year, Triumph India is expected to possibly launch an upgrade of one of the existing models being sold here in India. The Tiger Sport 1050, based on the Speed Triple, isn’t available on sale in India so far.
