Honda has also joined the leaning three wheeler concept, unveiling the Neowing at the Tokyo Motor Show.

Not much detail in terms of specifications and power output have been revealed yet, but what we do know is that the Neowing has a horizontally-opposed four-cylinder engine alongwith electric motors, offering some sort of hybrid drive system.

Honda says the Neowing is “an unprecedented three-wheeled vehicle that offers the cornering feel and sporty ride equivalent to a large-sized motorcycle while realizing excellent stability in low speed ranges.”

The Neowing is similar to the Can-Am Spyder or the Polaris Slingshot, in basic concept, in the sense that it features two wheels up front and one at the back. It’s the opposite configuration of the Harley-Davidson Trike and TriGlide, which have a traditional single wheel at the front and two drive wheels at the rear. The TriGlide is one of the most popular models for Harley-Davidson in the US.

Yamaha has also unveiled a leaning three wheeler concept at the Tokyo Motor Show calling it the Cornering Master concept. Going by the way both these Japanese biggies are focussing on leaning three wheeler concepts, we won’t be surprised if production models are already on the horizon.
