The South Korean carmaker will debut two new SUV concepts called the XIV-Air and XIV-Adventure at the 2014 Paris Motor Show

Before the official unveiling of the XIV-Air and XIV-Adventure at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, SsangYong has released images of its two new SUV concepts. The near production concepts preview the South Korean automaker’s upcoming SUV, the X100.

XIV stands for ‘eXciting user-Interface Vehicle’ and these two B-segment crossovers follow other similar concepts released in recent years by the South Korean automaker, the recent one being the XLV revealed at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.

Each concept measures in at 4,195mm long with a 2,600mm wide wheelbase, and flaunts wraparound lights, muscular haunches, and a wide, slim grille. The SsangYong XIV-Air receives a large air intake, with blue highlights, in the lower front bumper, and what appears to look like a full-length opening roof. The XIV-Adventure, on the other hand, is finished in green and sports a jagged look. This SUV receives a roof rack, under body protection and a storage compartment attached to the bootlid.

The South Korean automaker hasn’t revealed any mechanical specifications as of now. But we expect either a 1.6-litre petrol or diesel engine, both of which meet the Euro 6 emission standards, to do duty under the new SUVs.

The XIV-Air and XIV-Adventure concepts will be unveiled on October 2, 2014 in Paris.
