Saina Nehwal honoured with a new BMW car

After bagging the bronze at the 2012 London Olympics, star shuttler Saina Nehwal was recently presented the new 3-Series by the Andhra Badminton Association. The keys were handed over by batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar
Cricket stars are not the only ones awarded swanky cars for their match-winning performances anymore. The Andhra Badminton Association took note of ace badminton player Saina Nehwal’s Bronze-medal winning performance at the 2012 London Olympics and honoured her with a brand-new BMW 3-Series.That the keys were handed over by cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar made for the icing on the cake.
“I am quite confident that the best is yet to come and you will emerge victorious across the world and that is what we want,” said Tendulkar while heaping praises on Saina’s performance. Incidentally, Tendulkar, also happens to be the new brand ambassador for BMW India, which launched the latest 3-Series in India recently.
Priced from Rs 28.90 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, the new 3-Series is available with a 2.8-litre petrol motor and 2.0-litre oil burner. The Sport Line petrol variant churns out a whopping 248PS of power @ 5,000 – 6,500rpm while the diesel engine pumps out 186PS @ 4,000rpm that is transferred to the wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission for both engines. The new model is several notches above its predecessor when it comes to performance and has a claimed mileage of 14.79 km/l for the petrol engine and 18.88 km/l for the diesel.
Saina aside, a BMW car has also been announced for her coach P Gopichand and budding badminton talent P V Sindhu.

i think sachin doesn't saw the bronze medal match.....the chainise player injured otherwise saina not got a medal.....sachin forgot this matter....

The car was presented by the Andhra Badminton Association!!! And from following the super hyped media reports concentrating on the guy who merely handed over the keys, I was led to believe it was Tendulkar's personal presentation. But of course I ought to have known better.

Can not compare both Saina and Mary kom, She deserves. 15 titles received by her in career(Asian, Indonasian, Common wealth, Czechoslovakia, Philippines Open, Chinese open, hongkong super, singapur super series etc). Career Best rank is world no. 2. Another thing to notify is Saina Nehwal has been gifted the BMW by the Andhra Pradesh Badminton association vice president Chamundeshwarinat. Sachin Tendulkar presented Saina Nehwal with the BMW's keys in a glittering ceremony attended by celebrities from the sports and film industry. Saina's coach Pullela Gopichand and junior badminton player Sindhu were also presented with new Maruti Suzuki Swifts.
