Renault And Nissan Tease Their Hyundai Creta Rival For India

Renault India has announced a price hike on all its current products from January, 2014. While the extent of increase in prices is being worked out, the company says that it will be in line with industry standards. Escalating input costs has been cited as reasons for the price hike.
Sumit Sawhney, Executive Director Sales and Marketing, Renault India said, “Due to unavoidable macro-economic factors such as increasing rates, input costs, Renault India will increase prices across its product range in January. We will provide more information on the price increase soon, although this will be as per industry standards.”
Renault manufactures the Duster, Pulse and Scala in India while the Fluence and Koleos and brought through the CKD route. The highly popular Duster has been the flag bearer for Renault since its launch in July, 2012. Sales of the Duster slipped a bit this year but is averaging over 3,500 units every month. Nissan’s Terrano, which is a Duster under the skin, is off to a decent start too selling close to 3,000 units per month since its launch, benefiting the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
