The Nissan Micra known as the Nissan March in Thailand has been given a face-lift to freshen up the hatchback’s appeal.
As can be seen, the most prominent change that the face-lift has brought to the exterior is the new front grille that gets a honeycomb design and features the new Nissan family V shape chrome centre design theme. Other exterior changes include new front and rear bumpers, new headlamps that get black inserts and chrome lining, new fog lamp housings, 15-inch alloy wheels, new LED taillights and rear spoiler.
Interior changes are limited to audio control switches on the steering wheel, a new stereo and the centre console has been revised to incorporate dark plastics and new air vents. The face-lifted Micra also gets optional front curtain airbags.
In India, the Nissan Micra is offered with two engine options that include a three cylinder 1.2 litre petrol engine that develops 76PS of power and 104Nm of torque. The other engine is a four cylinder 1.5 litre diesel unit that develops 64PS of power and 160Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
The face-lifted Micra in Thailand is powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that has been tweaked to develop 80PS of power. The refreshed Micra also has an automatic gearbox in Thailand. With the introduction of the Nissan Sunny automatic in India and the growing number of automatic hatchbacks in the country, the automatic version of the face-lifted Micra could make it to India too.
It is not known when the face-lifted Nissan Micra will be launched in India but rest assured, the launch is certain as the Micra has not received any major updates since its launch in the country.
As of now the Nissan Micra is on sale with three petrol and two diesel variants on offer in India with prices ranging between Rs 4.30 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base petrol and Rs 6.53 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the top of the line diesel variant.
