The Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Prototype will make its first ever dynamic appearance at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The running prototype, which debuted at the Beijing Auto Show earlier this year, previews a production sedan that could pack the exact same engine found in the Nissan GT-R.
Up until now the car has only been a static concept. The 2014 Goodwood Festival will be the first time when the new car will be driven flat-out. Christian Horner will be the man behind the wheel, along with Sebastian Buemi. Horner is the Red Bull Racing F1 team principal and Buemi is the test driver and reserve driver of the team.
Beneath the skin of the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept is a 3.8-litre V6 twin-turbocharged engine which delivers a total of 568PS of power and 600Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed transmission which drives all the four wheels. The Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept is expected to sprint from 0-100kmph in four seconds with a top speed of around 290kmph.
Infiniti is the luxury vehicle division of Nissan Motor Company which sponsors the Red Bull Racing F1 team. Nissan has recently revealed the Vision Gran Turismo Concept 2020 which will be added to its long list of Gran Turismo contributions. (Also Read: Nissan unveils Vision Gran Turismo Concept 2020).
