Lamborghini has announced that 3000 of their recently launched Huracans have already been sold.

Lamborghini Huracan

The Lamborghini Huracan was introduced only ten months ago globally and last month in India and it is already making headlines. Lamborghini have announced that they have sold over 3000 units of the supercar globally already, a record sales figure for the Volkswagen owned Italian supercar manufacturer.

Lamborghini has also announced that they intend to sell upwards of 3600 units globally this year, including one-off cars and the Aventador. Compared to last year, where they sold a total of 2121 global units, this represents a near 50 per cent rise in sales in just one year.

The Huracan was launched in India last month at Rs 3.43 Crore and has already been a success. Dealers have mentioned how the car demands a huge waiting period as all quotas for India have already been exceeded.

The Lamborghini Huracan is powered by a 5.2-litre, naturally aspirated V10 engine which produces 618PS of peak power at 8250rpm and peak torque of 560Nm. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the first for Lamborghini. The Italian supercar manufacturer claims that the Huracan can sprint between 0-100kmph in 3.2 seconds and 0-200kmph in 9.9 seconds with a top speed of more than 325kmph.

Although as of now, only the coupe version of the car has been unveiled, there will soon be a convertible version of the Huracan followed by a more focused rear-wheel-drive version too. There will also be a hardcore Superleggera version of the Huracan that will be available in a couple of years for the more track oriented user.
