What’s to note here is that the two bigger motorcycles – the Vulcan 1700 Voyager ABS and Vulcan 1700 Vaquero ABS – will be cheaper than the previous year’s versions, even though these bikes are upgrades.
The Vulcan 1700 Voyager includes a 52-degree V-Twin engine which makes a massive 146Nm of torque at a low 2,750 revs, K-ACT II ABS braking system, cruise control, frame-mounted fairing and six-speed overdrive transmission.
Other features such as an intercom-headset compatible audio system and integrated luggage have been retained from the previous model. Dual adjustable rear air shocks offer load adjustments while compensating for luggage and passenger and the 729mm seat assures riders of all heights a comfortable height to reach the ground with their feet.
The Vulcan 1700 Vaquero ABS is the bagger version of the Voyager. The engine, transmission and braking systems are the same on the Vaquero. What it gets is slightly more luggage carrying capacity and a lower overall height.
The Vulcan 900 Classic is powered by a 903cc V-Twin making 79Nm of torque at 3,500rpm. The V-Twin is mated to a five-speed transmission and comes kitted out with 300mm front and 270mm rear disc brakes, 41mm telescopic forks and Uni-Track swingarm. The bike gets rider floorboards for that relaxed stretched out highway cruise, heel/toe shifter, spoked wheels and a 180mm rear tyre.
The Vulcan 900 Classic LT is based on the Classic platform but adds some touring amenities, like height adjustable windscreen, saddlebags and passenger backrest.
Finally, the 2015 Vulcan Custom is another variant of the Classic with drag-style handlebars, black cast wheels, lower triple clamp, one piece gunfighter seat with minimized front and rear fenders. All three Vulcans share the same SOHC V-Twin engine. For now, these models will be launched in the US next year, but we’d certainly like to see these here in India.
