Hyundai has announced a price hike of up to Rs 20,000 across its model range from February 2013 in the face of rising input costs and inflation.
Hyundai currently sells the Eon, Santro Xing, i10, i20, Accent, Verna, Elantra, Sonata and Santa Fe in India, with prices ranging from Rs 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the entry level Eon hatchback to Rs 25.43 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the top end Santa Fe SUV.
The price hike comes in as a measure to withstand the hike in input costs and inflation. Many car makers have announced price hikes across their model ranges due to the prevailing economic conditions, the remaining are expected to go down the same road soon.

With prices ranging from Rs 2.77 lakh for the entry level for cars of Hyundai, I feel that Hyundai will make greater profit if it ranged the cars between 2.77 lacs to 4.5 lacs only. On the other hand luxury cars should range from 12 lacs upwards. This will improve the overall image of the company.
