Korean manufacturer Hyosung and its Indian ally DSK have released sketches of the ST7 Concept Cruiser. The new cruiser bike will make its debut at the 2014 EICMA Motor Show in Milan, which will be held in November. From the sketches and the digital rendering, it is clear that future generation of ST7 will ditch its traditional cruiser styling and adopt more aggressive power cruiser design ques. Influence of the Ducati Diavel is evident in terms of the mass-forward design with a compact and floating tail section. The Hyosung ST7 Concept Cruiser has been designed and rendered by students of DSK International School of Design.
From the images one can make out that the concept bike will be powered by a V-twin motor. It is expected that the concept bike will feature the same powerplant as seen on the ST7. The 678cc, fuel injected engine churns out 59PS at 8,000rpm and torque figure of 57Nm at 6,000rpm. The specs don’t look as impressive as the design but given the fact that Hyosung bikes are priced competitively it is a good deal for consumers looking to purchase a striking looking motorcycle. It will be interesting to see how much percentage of the rendering transforms into the actual concept bike that will debut in 2014 EICMA. Hyosung’s decision of shifting to a power cruiser design seems logical given the fact that youngsters prefer the brawny looking power cruisers over traditional cruiser styling and they account for majority of the Hyosung customers in our market.
