Honda Two-Wheelers Celebrates World Environment Day 2016

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI) has started its week-long celebration of World Environment day all across the country. The event was started on June 5 and will conclude on June 11 of this month. The celebration is being held at the company's dealership networks and manufacturing plants at Manesar (Haryana), Tapukara (Rajasthan), Narsapura (Karnataka), Vithalapur (Gujarat). It is the 16th consecutive year that Honda has been celebrating World Environment Day in India.

Speaking on the initiatives taken by Honda, Keita Muramatsu, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd. said: “Preserving the environment is top of the mind for us at Honda. As a responsible corporate, Honda announced it’s global vision of 30% CO2 reduction by 2020 and in India too, we are actively contributing to build a greener tomorrow. The same reflects in our processes, technology and plant architecture.”

Following the theme of ‘Go Wild for Life’ for this year's celebration, Honda has its Green Factory, Green Dealer and Green Supplier concept aiming for a better tomorrow. Under this event, the company has conducted tree plantation and sapling distribution at schools, dealerships and plants, free PUC check-up and distribution jute bags. Also, awareness messages are being spread through stickers on invoices and employee uniforms across Honda dealerships.

At schools, interaction with students was done through quizzes, drawing competitions and rallies along with plantation drives. For the employees, in-house training, slogan and poster making competition, environmental awareness training and quizzes, skit play, awareness banners and mailers have been organised by Honda.
