Honda will launch two new motorcycles this year, one of which will be a new 160cc sporty commuter

Honda has revealed that it will launch a new 160cc motorcycle in India this year. Apart from the 160cc single cylinder motorcycle, Honda will also launch another new entry-level motorcycle part of the Dream series. This new Dream will be Honda's cheapest motorcycle offering in the Indian market. Both these motorcycles will be lunched in the second quarter of FY 2015 with the entry-level Dream hitting showrooms first, mostly in June. As for the 160cc, Honda says it will be a stylish and sporty 160cc motorcycle meant for youngsters.

This announcement was made at Honda's annual business meet in Tokyo, Japan. Takanobu Ito, president, CEO & Representative Director, Honda Motor Company, Japan said, “I thank our business partners from India for their unwavering commitment to Honda and it gives me a sense of pride and satisfaction on the fantastic relationship you have build with customers. You can expect enhanced level of support from Honda Motor Company, Japan at all levels. Together, we will unleash a new Era of Honda progression and customer satisfaction in India.”

Another area of focus for Honda this year will be network expansion. According to the company, it is expanding at a phenomenal rate of three outlets a day and at this rate Honda will double its network in just two years from 1950 outlets in FY’2012-13 to 3800 outlets by end of FY’2014-15.
