Honda Road Safety activities at IITF

To spread the message of road safety among the masses, Honda’s safety instructors trained more than 6,000 adults and over 2000 children at the IITF 2014.

"Road safety is the topmost priority at Honda and as a responsible corporate firm we would like to inculcate this in the society through various such activities. India International Trade Fair is a great platform to reach out to a wide audience and for the last 7 years we try to ensure the message of Road-safety percolates further into the society," said Yadvinder S. Guleria, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, HMSI.

Adults got a chance to learn about the correct riding posture through demonstration on the Honda display vehicles. Slow riding contests were also conducted at the pavilion. For children under 5-6 years of age, Honda took the fun way on educating on safe riding through activities like role playing and interactive games.

Children were trained on Honda CRF 50 models, especially imported from Japan to help young minds understand the importance of safety riding. A protected road environment was also designed at the pavilion to give practical road experience to kids under the age group of 9-12 years.

Riding trainer (also present at every Honda Exclusive Authorised Dealership across India) helped aid riders above 16 years of age to experience over 100 possible dangers on the road. This virtual experience increases the ability to predict and react to traffic hazards by creating awareness and knowledge about potential risks & solutions.

Globally, road safety promotion has been one of Honda’s top priorities worldwide since 1970. Under the People Come First philosophy, Honda follows Safety as an integral part of all its business activities.
