Honda Cars India records 41 per cent sales growth in FY 2014-15

The carmaker has posted its best ever sales figures this year by selling 1.89 lakh units in the domestic market

Honda Cars India has a reason to rejoice. The Japanese carmaker posted best ever sales figure by registering 41 per cent growth in FY 2014-15. Sales in FY 2014-15 stood at 1.89 lakh units as opposed to 1.34 lakh units in the FY 2013-14.

Domestic sales for Honda grew by 23 per cent with the carmaker selling 22,696 units in March 2015 as opposed to 18,426 units in the same period last year. The company’s annual export volume grew by 45 per cent during FY 2014 – 15 with sales of 8,403 units as compared to 5,798 units in the last fiscal.

Commenting on the company’s sales performance, Jnaneswar Sen, Senior Vice-President – Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd, said, “The fiscal 2014-2015 has been extremely fruitful for HCIL. We are thankful to our customers for the great response we have achieved for Mobilio launched in July last year and their continued interest for other models.”

Sen further stated that the new Honda City has achieved exceptional success with over one lakh sales in record 15 months. HCIL also witnessed 36 per cent growth in nation-wide dealer network expansion by focusing on existing markets and newer Tier III cities.
