Recent export data points to CBU exports of the 2015 Honda CBR250R to markets such as Mexico, Chile and Peru, pointing to a possible launch of an updated 2015 CBR250R in India soon

The upgraded 2015 Honda CBR250R is likely to be one of the 15 new launches Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has planned for in 2015.

The export data shows that CBU units of the 2015 Honda CBR250R are being exported to markets in Latin America, more specifically to Mexico, Chile and Peru. And this could be a precursor to a possible launch of the 2015 version in India very soon.

The 2015 CBR250R has already been launched in Indonesia last year and has minor design upgrades which include twin headlamps and a fairing which is more worthy of the CBR moniker than the VFR series inspired design of the current CBR250R on sale in India.

The new CBR250R will also get minor mechanical updates, with the same four-stroke 250cc single-cylinder engine, but with marginal hike in power. The upgraded bike now makes 29.4PS of power and maximum torque of 23Nm, a marginal improvement from just over 26PSof power in the current CBR250R. As with the current bike on sale in India, the 2015 version will be available in both ABS and non-ABS versions.

Officially, Honda is tight-lipped about a possible launch of the upgraded bike, but considering India contributes 25 per cent of global Honda motorcycle sales, we won’t be surprised if the updated CBR250R is launched within the next few months.
