Hero Motors to sponsor Narain Kartikeyan In F1

Preparations behind the start of the first ever Indian Grand Prix are in full swing, and as we wait with great anticipation for the start of the race, the thought of seeing Narain Karthikeyan race down the Buddh International Circuit in his F111 powered HRT race car for the very first time is one that will bring smiles to many Indian F1 fans, especially those planning to catch the race action live at the circuit.

Backing Narain’s participation in this year’s Indian GP race is Hero motors limited, a leading Indian auto parts manufacturer as well as the manufacturer of Hero Cycles. As sponsors of the HRT-Cosworth racing team for the Indian GP, the company will have its logo on Narain’s car.

Narain, who has been with the Hispania Racing Team (HRT) since the start of the season, was replaced by his team mate Daniel Ricciardo at the British Grand Prix in July. However, he is quite excited about his wild card entry for the Indian GP, and is happy to be racing for India and is thankful for the support extended to him. As for this new relationship with Hero Motors he hopes it will be a fruitful long relationship.

Present at the annoucement of Hero Motor's new found relationship with the HRT-Cosworth Racing Team, Narain Karthikeyan said that, “Hero is one of the oldest and most prominent Indian brands and I am pleased to be associated with it. Today is a very important step in the right direction for motor sports in the country. The sport has come a long way since the day I started racing. Viewership has gone up a lot, and corporate support is now more forthcoming. Formula One is in its nascent stage in India with great potential waiting to be explored. I hope with the support from Hero Motors we will be able to scale new milestones in the times to come”.

Hero Cycles is also presenting Narain two carbon fibre chassis cycles to help narain stay fit! Narain feels that this race is going to be very special.
