The event was organized by India Bike Week, India’s largest motorbike festival, in association with Social Media Week, as part of a series of activities to the run up to the India Bike Week festival in Goa on February 20-21, 2015.
The concept of the Chai and Pakoda ride is simple – gather bikers together regardless of the machine they ride. From Bajaj Pulsars to Harley-Davidsons to KTMs to Triumphs to superbikes, more than 500 bikers got out on their motorcycles to meet like-minded people, enjoy a good breakfast and celebrate the bonhomie shared with friends old and new.
The biggest club turnout was the Surat Superbikers Club, with 65 attendees and the Bikers Brotherhood Club, who came a close second with 47 participants. There were some new events too with biker games like Coolest Looking Biker, Best Looking Bike, Oldest Bike, Safest Biker, arm wrestling and more.
“As I always say, IBW is not about brands and models. Anyone who wishes to be a rider is welcome, and anyone with a love for bikes and love for the road is welcome. All the bikers who rode their way to be a part of an amazing union today substantiated what we preach,” said Martin da Costa, CEO of 70 EMG, one of the partners behind India Bike Week.
The India Bike Week Chai and Pakoda rides are open to all motorcycles and bikers with or without pillion riders meet up with the organizers of the India Bike Week on a Sunday breakfast ride. Previously the chai and pakoda rides have been conducted all across the country including Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Goa, Chennai, Chandigarh and Kochi.
IBW will engage bikers and celebrate the spirit of biking brotherhood with a six-month season of activities culminating into one great party in Goa.
